Rev. Michelle Shrader
Rev. Michelle Shrader is the Senior Pastor at Good Samaritan UMC. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Michelle brings with her a diversity of experience having served in many locations around the world. After graduating from Duke Divinity School with her Master of Divinity degree in 2007, Michelle was offered a one-year fellowship to look at religion and race. This led her to Jackson, Mississippi where she served alongside one of the state’s civil rights leaders, learning about how to build a community that reflects the diversity of the Kingdom of God. After serving in Mississippi for six years, she was invited to serve in Charlotte, North Carolina as the Missions Pastor at a large 5,000-member church. Three years later, she accepted an invitation to serve a three-year appointment in Cape Town, South Africa. She served alongside Rev. Alan Storey at Cape Town Methodist Mission and with the bishop’s office helping to organize campus ministries in Cape Town. Michelle moved back to Florida in 2018 and to Good Sam in 2020. Michelle’s greatest passion is leadership development. She loves witnessing others find their way to connecting in the life of the church and the work of God!
