VISIT

A typical Sunday worship experience at Good Samaritan begins with about 15 minutes of music (led by our band) followed by some housekeeping items, Children’s Moment, an offering, and prayer. After the prayer, a sermon is delivered. We conclude our service with more singing and a blessing. The entire gathering should last about 75 minutes.

We don’t believe that God is concerned with how you dress in our worship services, so we’re not either. You will see some people in shorts and a t-shirt and some people in dresses. Bottom line: wear what makes you feel comfortable!

At Good Samaritan, we believe that children should be seen and heard. Feel free to bring your kids into the worship service with you – even the noisy and rambunctious ones! Our KidsMin is available for Kindergarten through 5th grade.

OUR CORE PRACTICES

We believe in the triune God, creator and king of the universe. God, who loved us so much, sent his son Jesus Christ to welcome us into a relationship with him. Good Samaritan believes this relationship is open to everyone.

Jesus said, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24

We learn best when we wrestle with God’s Word together through study, open discussion, and prayer. Good Samaritan Church offers a wide range of opportunities to learn in different kinds of groups of all sizes, formats, and settings.

Jesus said, “People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.” Matthew 4:4

We believe God has called us to use our resources to relieve suffering, comfort those in need, and make a difference in the world. We will serve together locally in Tallahassee and beyond, sharing the love of God with neighbors near and far.

Jesus said, “But among you, those who are the greatest should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be the servant.” Luke 22:26

God invented laughter, friendship, rest, and play. We value playing together to enjoy God’s good gifts of beauty, celebration, and recreation. Life in balance is life abundant.

Jesus said, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” John 10:10
