Yes. Students will need money for lunch on the road and dinner in the parks as well as any additional spending money for snacks and souvenirs. A minimum of $50 is suggested.

WILL MY STUDENT BE ACCOMPANIED BY A CHAPERONE AT ALL TIMES?

Yes. Students will be placed in groups of 6-8 and each group will have 2 chaperones. Students will not be permitted to wonder without their group and chaperones.

CAN I CHAPERONE?

Yes. However, chaperone spaces are limited, not all who are interested in chaperoning will be able to do so on this trip. Per conference policy, chaperones at any event that takes students off church campus may not be related to one another, therefore only one parent/guardian may volunteer as a chaperone on this trip.

IF I GET TO CHAPERONE, WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Each group of 6 – 8 youth will have 2 chaperones assigned, these chaperones will be responsible for the students in their group from the time the bus leave Good Sam until the time it returns. Students must remain with their chaperones at all times, students will not be permitted to wonder the parks alone.  Chaperone tickets and event t-shirts will be paid for by the church and chaperones are required to ride the bus down and back with the students.

CAN I ATTEND AS A NON-CHAPERONING PARENT/GUARDIAN?

Although Chaperone spaces are limited we want parents/guardians to participate if they would like to do so.  Non-chaperoning parents/guardians will be required to pay for the expense of their trip.  If there is space on the bus non-chaperoning parents/guardians are welcome to ride along, otherwise they may need to plan to travel separately.
